Inspired by the sounds of Joy Division, Iggy Pop and Bauhaus. Sbwriel, the first single from SamWoy’s (Half Moon Run, Patrick Watson, Luca Fogale) debut solo album Awkward Party—due out in early 2023. The main throughline throughout this song is restless commitment to sonic experimentation. From full-throated garage punk, dance floor-ready grooves to warped and nostalgic ambience. This song leaves you with the feeling the singer has given up on their journey of self improvement inviting the listener to “go dancing into the sewer.”
